Kärnan i vår konsertverksamhet är det sedan många år etablerade samarbetet med Long Island String Quartet under ledning av cellisten Per Nyström. Kvartetten bildades som en direkt följd av våra arrangemang och står för kontinuiteten i vår verksamhet.

Per Nyström
Per Nyström, cello

Per Nyström is a Swedish cellist traveling the world as chamber musician & soloist and currently principal cello in UPPSALA CHAMBER SOLOISTS and UPPSALA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA in Sweden. Since 2001 Per is honorary fellow of the University of Aberdeen, and since 2012 holder of the Swedish royal medal ‘Literis et artibus’. Per was founder & artistic director of Kammarmusikens Vänner (K-V) festivals & masterclasses 2006–2017, (ex Aurora/Old Ox Festivals) and is since 2018 artistic advisor. K-V is one of the world's largest organizers of classical music festivals. Per was cellist and co-founder of the YGGDRASIL STRING QUARTET, 1992–2001. The Quartet had a residency at the University of Aberdeen for 5 years and toured the world performing in the great European halls and concerthouses. During 2001–2016 Per was principal cellist in CAMERATA NORDICA chamber orchestra, an orchestra at the time considered one of Europe’s leading chamber orchestras. Per plays on a Antonio & Giuseppe Gagliano cello from Naples 1796, and lifts 200kg in dead lift.

Claudia Ajmone-Marsan
Claudia Ajmone-Marsan, violin

Born of Italian and Danish parentage, the violinist Claudia Ajmone-Marsan is a member of Ensemble 360 and Camerata Bern, Switzerland.
Always active as a chamber musician, Claudia has played in international festivals around the world including Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Belgium, Spain and the International Musicians Seminar in Prussia Cove and Plush. She has performed live on BBC Radio 3 and Israeli, Belgian, Swiss and Swedish radios.
Claudia has played regularly in orchestras such as the Berlin Staatskapelle (under Daniel Barenboim), the Royal Danish Orchestra, Ensemble Modern, the Philharmonia and the Cologne Chamber Orchestra. As concertmaster, she has led the Kammerphilharmonie Neuss am Rhein, Santander Festival Orchestra and the Presteigne Festival Orchestra. As principle second, she has guested with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Nordica and the Welsh National Opera. Her solo performances have included appearances with the Copenhagen Chamber Soloists, Oberlin Conservatory Chamber Orchestra and Kammerphilharmonie Amadé.

Daniel Bard
Daniel Bard, violin

Two time Chalmers-award winner Daniel Bard was born in Haifa, Israel, where he began his violin studies. Daniel co-founded Trio Mondrian, a group that played together from 2007-2019. The trio received first prize at the 2007 International Chamber Music Competition in Trieste, Italy and performed in prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw and La Fenice in Venice. One of the biggest passions of Daniel is the chamber orchestra. He has been invited by Tabea Zimmermann to guest lead Camerata Bern, and directed numerous projects with Sweden’s Camerata Nordica and Norway’s Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. He was principal violist of the Amsteradm Sinfonietta from 2009 to 2016. In 2017, Daniel became concertmaster of the Basel Chamber Orchestra in Switzerland where he performed “Meta Arca” by Heinz Holliger with composer conducting. In April 2018 Daniel performed the Dutch premiere of John Woolrich’s “Ulysses Awakes” with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
Equally at home as a violinist and violist, Daniel is invited to play chamber music concerts all across Europe and Israel.

PÃ¥l Solbakk
Pål Solbakk, viola

Pål Solbakk är en mycket allsidig musiker med erfarenhet från allt från frijazz och barockmusik till rock och tangoband. Efter avslutad utbildning har han varit knuten till kammarorkestern Camerata Nordica mellan åren 1998 och 2016. Han har också varit gruppledare i flera andra nordiska orkestrar. Pål spelar ofta med Oslo Barockorkester och Det Norske Kammerorkester. Från och med i år, 2022, är Pål fast medlem av Oslo-Filharmonien. Han är dessutom en mycket efterfrågad pedagog som bland annat undervisar musiker på Toneheim folkhögskola i Norge. Pål spelar på en fransk viola byggd 1795, och har hoppat 7 meter i längdhopp.

Sedan 2020–21 samarbetar vi med nystartade Old Ox Pianotrio som består av Peter Jablonski, piano, Brusk Zanganeh, violin och Per Nyström, cello. Vi är glada och stolta att kunna presentera denna fantastiska trio.
